taste

There are many ways to look and perceive our experiences. Instead of seeing them as good or bad, you could look at what you experience, your emotions for example, the same way you look at taste.

Some foods taste bitter, some taste sweet, some taste salty, some taste very very spicy, etc... Some tastes you like very much, some not so much or not at all.

I do not eat as much bitter things as I am not used to do so. It seems more effortless/easy/fulfilling to consume something sweet instead of something bitter. I am not used to eat bitter as much, as eating something sweet.

But all sorts of tastes can be cultivated, can be liked, appreciated.

As a child I did not like the taste of Brussels Sprouts, later on my life I did. My appreciation for different kinds of tastes grew.

When you look at experiences in the form of different tastes instead of good or bad. Then you create the opportunity to move into the "bad", into a different taste. It is no longer a bad thing, it is just a different taste, one you not yet have cultivated. When you are able to enjoy/appreciate more tastes then your are able to move more between these cultivated tastes. Your movement, your dance, has grown more complex, more rich.

In that way you can glimpse that indeed everything is "Love". That all there is has the potential to be enjoyed. It might be just a matter of changing your perspective, seeing that all can be liked, by welcoming the unappreciated, by moving into the uncomfortable, to start tasting the undiscovered, unappreciated, tastes. And when you do, you move more complex, more rich, more joyfully.
